If I ventured into the graveyard late at night, I could meet a grave robber, or worse still, a zombie! If it was a dark, starless night, I would first mistake the zombie for a regular human being. If the undead monster opened its mouth and let out a growl, however, I'd quickly realize how wrong I was! I bet I'd be terrified if the zombie lifted its arms and started to walk towards me! If I was alone, I'd scream for help... but that still wouldn't help me much, would it? So if the zombie kept coming after me, I'd spun around and start running. If I ran too fast, though, I'd surely trip on a random skull laying on the ground. If the skull was as old as the graveyard itself, it'd crush under my foot with a sickening crunch. If I heard that crunch despite being sort of preoccupied with the zombie, I'd shriek, try to catch my balance, and then tumble to the ground nonetheless. If I managed to break my leg in the process, I'd be in real trouble... unless I'd wake up in time, that is.
If Sally hadn't been such a curious little sheep, she would've never thought of venturing towards the end of the pasture. If she hadn't gone there in the first place, she would've never discovered a wooden fence that separated her home from the rest of the world. If she had been too lazy to investigate, she wouldn't have discovered a small hole. Now, if Farmer Sam had been a more hard-working man, his wooden fence wouldn't have been so rotten; alas, the last time he had replaced the faulty planks with new ones had been ten years ago. If the wood hadn't been in such a sad condition, Sally wouldn't have managed to break free. If only she had stayed where she belonged, she wouldn't have been so disappointed with the fact that the grass on the other side of the fence wasn't any greener. If she had given up by that point, she wouldn't have thought of going into a nearby valley. If she hadn't entered the valley, she wouldn't have stumbled across the road and a huge, roaring monster flying at her with high speed. If Tony, the lorry driver, hadn't been drunk, maybe he would've spotted the sheep in time.
